I bought a book my first year of teaching, Roadside Americana, that has hundreds of roadside attractions located throughout the United States; things like giant arrows, vegetables and people, outhouses, twine, dead men in coffins, basically anything that makes you go huh.
We, my mom, sister, and I, pick a final destination, hop in the car, and see everything in the book between San Antonio and that final destination.
Last year we went up to South Dakota to see Mt. Rushmore. This year we went for a little less sophistication and headed east to Dollywood.
